Bamboo Vegetative Propagation: From Science to Sustainability

23rd August 2025 | DES’s Fergusson College Botanical Garden (FCBG)

🌿✨ My Experience at the Bamboo Vegetative Propagation Workshop πŸŽ‹

On 23rd August 2025, I had the privilege to attend the workshop:

β€œBamboo Vegetative Propagation: From Science to Sustainability” 🌱

This event was thoughtfully organized by DES’s Fergusson College Botanical Garden (FCBG) in cordination with CA Sunil Bhide Sir and in association with the Department of Botany, and wonderfully facilitated by Ms. Anuradha Kashid, Founder – The Bamboo Setu.

The workshop brought together passionate learners, botany students, researchers, and nature enthusiasts who believe in the power of bamboo as a tool for sustainability. The serene setting of Fergusson College Botanical Garden made the experience even more engaging. πŸƒ

✨ What I Learned & Experienced:

  • Practical, hands-on training on bamboo vegetative propagation techniques
  • Understanding the scientific basis behind propagation methods
  • Insights on bamboo’s ecological importance in soil conservation, carbon absorption, and sustainable livelihoods
  • Interaction with experts and fellow participants, making it a truly collaborative learning journey 🀝

🌏 My Key Takeaway:
This workshop helped me connect science with sustainability. I now have both practical skills and deeper knowledge of how bamboo can be used as a solution for climate resilience, afforestation, and community development.

πŸ™ Gratitude:
A heartfelt thanks to the organizers, CA Sunil Bhide Sir, DES’s Fergusson College Botanical Garden (FCBG) and Department of Botany, and special appreciation to Ms. Anuradha Kashid for her inspiring guidance and dedication to spreading awareness about bamboo.

πŸ’‘ Looking Ahead:
I truly look forward to attending more such workshops in the future and continuing this journey of learning, conservation, and sustainability. 🌿
